The Records Department is responsible for maintaining all active case files, accident reports, felongy and misdemeanor reports, subpoena compliance and the imaging report system. This new system allows all a tive reports to be maintained on a database, where Sheriff's Office Personel can access the reports from our substations, which reduces paperwork and saves money. This department is responsible for submission of data to the Uniform Crime Reports (UCR). The UCR is maintained by the Department fo Justice for the compilation of crime statistics for Jefferson County and other agencies in the United States. The UCR is important for Sheriff Hale to determine manpower needs, equipment needs, budgeting, and grant proposals to better serve the citizens of Jefferson County.
