Thank
you for agreeing to Meet the Challenge and
start or revitalize a Neighborhood Watch group! As part of
the newly-created Citizen Corps initiative, President Bush
has challenged Americans to become involved locally in homeland
security efforts, and one way to do this is to start a Neighborhood
Watch group.
Law
enforcement agencies depend on alert citizens to identify
and report things that seem out of the ordinary in their neighborhoods,
communities, and places of business. In essence, citizens
act as law enforcement's "eyes and ears." By working through
Neighborhood Watch networks, the public can play a potentially
crucial role in the detection, disruption and prevention of
terrorist acts.
By
filling out this form and recording your new Watch group or
your intention to start a Watch group, you are taking an important
step toward helping to secure our homeland. Thank you for
Meeting the Challenge!
