The Crimes Against Persons Unit specializes in investigating all violent crimes committed against citizens of Jefferson County. Since this unit has been formed, The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has been successful in virtually eliminating unsolved Homicides and other crimes of violence such as Rapes, Robberies and Assaults, including all classes of Murder. They work with and assist many other agencies of Jefferson County. When serial crimes are committed they may also be involved in investigations with agencies throughout the United States. This Unit is also comprised of the following: Evidence Collection Unit, Youth Services, and Sex Offender Tracking Investigators and the Criminial Identification Bureau.
