| The
Court Service Division is mandated to serve all papers
directed to it by the courts of private litigants and
file returns to the Court. These papers include summonses,
subpoenas, garnishments, executions and other court
related documents. We strive to serve all papers in
the most efficient and professional matter. Orders of
Protection from Abuse are priority.
Court
Services is responsible for providing safety and security
for the court system in Jefferson County. Juvenile and
Domestic Relations Court, District, Circuit Court each
present unique and different concerns for the staff.
From simple civil issues to potentially volatile family
case or felony trials, the responsibility of the bailiffs
is to ensure a safe environment. The judiciary and the
general public must be protected and the dignity of
the court must be maintained. Additionally the deputies
assigned to this division must make arrangements for
the calling of jurors, the transportation of jurors
and other court staff in the event a trial requires
a visit to an off site location, arrangements for sequestered
jurors and host of other technical functions to make
the court system operate efficiently and safely.

Warrant
Detail
Warrant
detail acts on the orders of the courts, which includes
Transportation Orders from Family Court, Criminal Courts,
and transporting state prisoners to court.
The
Division is responsible for the execution of all types
of warrants (Felony, Misdemeanor, Parole Violations,
Failure to Appears, Involuntary Commitments, Probation
Violation, Alias Warrants, Juvenile Pick Up Orders,
Writs of Attachment, etc.
Deputies
also work warrants sent from various agencies nationwide.
The
Warrants Division is also responsible for the transport
of prisoners arrested on Jefferson County warrants by
other agencies. Warrant Officers travel thousands of
miles each year transporting prisoners.
